Will Phoebus Knuckle Under When YOU Need Him?

In support of the question posted on the Salisbury Grinch Blog:

"The talk of combining Washington High and Crisfield High into one central Somerset County High School are quietly creeping back to the surface with the tough economic times the Country is facing. How much money could be saved in this move? Would locals think differently about this with what is happening around them?"

It appears Mr. Phoebus knuckled under last time.  I would remind everyone to review the old adage about Leopards and Spots.  We need a delegate willing to make those hard decisions! I submit to you a copy of a letter I received:

  1. Regardless of the past, Somerset County did centralize its middle schools into a 6-7th grade high tech green intermediate school. A wise decision if for no other reason children are safely bused there, no 16 year olds on two-lane 413 driving daily to school.

  2. I'm sure the 16 year olds are driving up and down 413 to go to Princess Anne, Pocomoke and Salisbury. Somerset County needs to cut the cost of education before the whole county goes under. It cost a lot of money to maintain a school building.

  3. Where where they at when Deal Island or Mt vernon , or Marion had to close it's high schools ? Do you think Crisfield is better then those ? Political , That's it ! The powers - that - be. They always say When a tea bag hits the hot water , that's when the color and flavor comes out. My Pop said " It's what you say , it's what you do" They think that all the voters of Somerset are fools, and can't make a good decision . Stand back a watch. We are going to upset the whole cart ! That , my friends scares the politicians to death ! Let's clean H O U S E

  4. Not sure why someone had to write an annomyous letter to "spill the beans" on what was already PUBLIC info! Talk about over dramatizing. If that's all you got, you may as well start calling him Delegate Phoebus! :)
